![]() ![]() It didn't ruin my experience, but it can be a problem. I have an AMD card and there were one or two sections where the game really struggled, but I got through it. Apparently all of the versions, console or PC, are a bit buggy, and the PC version is notorious for not playing well with AMD graphic cards. Mechanically, it is an over-the-shoulder action-RPG, and you play as one of a human, dwarf, and elf, and the other 2 you don't pick are either AI, or you can play co-op with others online. I'll admit that a big part of the appeal for me was just bringing back my memories of reading those books, but it did it really well. If you liked the movies, they use the facial models of the actors for all the notable characters you meet. You visit so many locations from The Hobbit as well as the trilogy. I loved reading the LOTR books growing up, and this really brought the feeling back. So for whatever reason, I decided to give War in the North a try recently, and I LOVED it. I have also played through Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, but I found it kinda dull and unremarkable. Unfortunately while I had high hopes, to me the Lego adaptation of LOTR was just too silly and I couldn't get into it. I got this game a while back in a bundle with a bunch of other LOTR games, such as the Lego games. It's notable for being the first game made after WB obtained and unified video game rights for both the LOTR books and movies, as well as being the last game from Snowblind before they were merged into Monolith Productions.
